i have been avoiding my camera because our things don't have places yet. we have 4 generations of family things to sort through. it seems i end up taking pictures of the "things" because i can isolate them from the clutter (or in the clutter as the case may be). i swear i am taking pictures of the house this weekend whether it's put together or not.

monday morning i was making breakfast when sweet pea told me his lady friend wanted him to call her daffodil all day. he said, "i don't want to call her daffodil. geezzz." come to find out he was supposed to call her daphne because according to his teacher they have been playing scooby doo all week and she is daphne and sweet pea is fred. he told me fred gets to drive the mystery machine. all of this totally cracked me up because he's only ever seen scooby doo one time. ever. i've been letting sp watch the jetsons on our new satellite hook up. he actually laughs hysterically for the 20 minutes it's on. i love it. bye bye dora.

tuesdays have transformed from afternoons at the park with the gr girls to afternoons at the indoor pool for swimming lessons. beans has no worries about the water and is the first to jump in each time. sweet pea had a rough start, but met his new teacher miss lindsay this week and all is good now. as he was kicking along he looked at me with a huge smile and gave me the thumbs up. he loves it so much. and, honestly, it's about time someone taught those boys to swim.

on wednesday night pizza night, mr. nicodemus stopped by not once, but twice to visit and give us information about the library (remember him from here). he got the grand tour of the newly remodeled homestead. he aptly pointed out that we have no book cases. he said, "i see you have the boys books on shelves. where are yours?" although we have our clothes unpacked (still missing a box of shoes) i'm never at home without my books. sigh.

crazy aunt bonnie is in town with her lovely friend who is visiting from new zealand. la, tall jen and i stayed with them when we were on the south island for brad's birthday in 2002 (without brad). we are celebrating c.a.b's birthday tonight at merle's. and tomorrow with a seafood boil. we are so happy to have our first house guests (even if the house really is cab's childhood home). and we are ready for visitors if you are in the neighborhood...

on sunday we will say goodbye to the ladies as they head back to nebraska. we are getting a family picture taken by our talented friend surya (great photographer for those in co spgs area). one of my secret pleasures is waiting for her to email me proofs from the shoot. i'm like a kid at Christmas waiting to open my presents. she's that good.
