monday was a mild mannered day, all things considered. lots of excitement.
tuesday was great. i don't work on tuesdays. i watched from afar on my living room sofa.
wednesday? well that is another day entirely....we turned the corner into the parking garage and there was the building manager with....the ATF. hey, remember me? we just went through the last year of lease negotiations and suite renovations together? no? your very large friend there would like me to pop my hood and unlock the doors to my car? oh, look at that nice doggy. why is he sniffing my car? oh yeah, the hood. the hood?.....there should be a latch here somewhere.....hood....hood....hood. hmmmm....just a minute....why am i laughing so nervously? well your friend is really large, and he looks nice and all, but seriously i'm not sure where the hood latch is. i swear it's a new car. no....that's the latch for the gas tank....do you mind closing that for me? i know there's a long line, and you all are doing a fabulous job with safety, but....oh, there it is. you don't need it open anymore? i can pass? whew!
i was disappointed because i walked all around the town with mackadoo and there was nothing very exciting going on. we stopped to take a look at the msnbc setup. isn't she an adorable badger as far as badgers go?

we decided to head back for lunch at green before going home for the day. we wished we could ride on this train back up the mall (the patron tequila express).
we didn't see anyone fun and there was just nothing going on. we decided to sit outside in the courtyard and people watch. that's when all the action came to us.
first we saw governor bill richardson leaving the palm.
then as we quietly munched on our greens a protest came marching into the courtyard.
and they got closer.
and closer.
until they stopped for a photo opportunity. all the while chanting "out of the office into the streets." i mean that's what mackenzie and i were doing. eating our lunch on the mall instead of at our desks. everything was all fine and dandy until they decided to proceed....right through our lunch (literally). i'm sure they didn't see us sitting there in the middle of the rather large stairway. maybe it was that big banner obstructing their view. but we had to rapidly gather our salads, drinks, purses and cameras to move before getting run over. they were kind enough to ask if we were all right. thanks for that.
look for us in the denver post tomorrow. a reporter got a picture of us running away from the protesters. fun times. fun times.
i cannot wait to see what the city is like tomorrow.
Hey "traveling reporter", your brother's friend john of the dp should follow you around. You are really experiencing the pulse of the city and reporting in a very entertaining way!
