for not being part of the political process this week, i can't help but feel so much more energized and interested in politics. it was fun watching the politicians take over our one horse town and turn it into something bigger and more cosmopolitan. it was interesting to see the people who believe so adamantly in their causes use their freedom of speech. there was a surprising lack of tension, and an overwhelming sense of community. denver was proud of this chance to be on center stage. and at the end of it all, the only thing i was missing today was my superstar (picture mary catherine gallagher). turns out, i wasn't missing anything, because he and his motorcade drove right on by.
barack obama. i can't imagine the emotions he must be feeling on the precipice of his speech to the world. 45 years since mlk set this process in motion, mr. obama has the opportunity to make history. he is living the dream. gobama.
