i'm running for vice president

tall jen says i owe her an apology because she was extremely pleasant this morning, but i on the other hand was a little disheveled. we are a family on a pretty tight routine. mornings where mom leaves (or attempts to leave) at 6:15 am don't go as smoothly as you would imagine. not to mention the fact that i had to miss sweet pea's drop-off at preschool. and i forgot my coffee on the counter. bummer. (does that count as an apology?)

as i said, i was equipped with my trusty camera....my new camera....and after work tall jen, mackadoo and i set off for our adventure that is the democratic national convention hullabaloo. we chose the 16th street mall to do our people watching today.

we saw a small war protest.

an elevated police presence.

a happy couple enjoying the scenery. (hope they don't mind participating in the blog).

oh...and someone important at boney's smokehouse right outside of our office building....

was it ben? was it oprah? (can you tell what i care about here.....?) no, it was senator joe biden stopping for a photo opportunity. sweet timing on our part. we were right there in the thick of things. very fun day of people watching.

we'll have to see where the pulse of the city leads us next.....

  2. so much fun! i was in NYC for one of the conventions, but all I remember was drunk guys in suits getting crazy on the curb... way more politically minded now.

  4. sadly, i'm politically apathic by nature... however, listening to the 'bco morning show and reading your blog, a growing interest is blooming. thanks for getting me (us) down into the thick of the DNC! jh

  6. So do you have to start work at 7 am every morning or just during the DNC? It must be crazy downtown. Have fun people watching...hope you meet some celebrities.

  7. jen-i may or may not have some catching up to do with you. and don't forget it was a monday.

jh-brett saunders is your boy. you need to meet him someday, or i'll figure out how to get a shout out to you in IF. did you hear him say that he was afraid of getting kicked out of the convention for breaking some rules? he is a conforming non-conformist.

all-sadly we are working from 7-12 this week. gladly those hours are only during the dnc. i'm going to beat the streets tomorrow in search of celebrities. i heard someone say that la has moved to denver this week. and....bo comes to town tomorrow. finally, without speaking to political affiliation, i feel so left out because all of these things are happening around me and i can't participate. it's like a kid in a candy store who can't eat anything....I HEART POLITICS.

PS lots of comments today. good going ladies. this might be an all time high for me:)
