(i did not take this picture. i found it on tripadvisor.com. just wanted to give credit where credit is due but i don't know who to give it to.)these are my parting words until monday when i will return from a long weekend, and will become deeply embroiled in the democratic national convention. i admit, i am not part of the convention (i am not a delegate nor did i score a ticket to the acceptance speech or get selected to meet bo backstage). but the convention will be affecting my every day starting at 7am on monday morning (new office hours). i have not yet figured out how to juggle sweet pea's first official day of preschool with said office hours, but i'm sure that brad will cover me.
yes, tall jen and i will attempt to drive downtown (leaving our houses around 6:30am with a brief interlude at the drive-up starbucks) and park in our building. word has it that the block directly under my office window will be closed intermittantly (i think the guest of honor may be staying at the hotel across the street). truth be told, i'm more afraid of carpooling that early on monday morning with tall jen than i am of finding a parking place. our office building sent out a memo informing us of the lock down procedure in the event that peaceful protests turn to riots. we won't go into that because the parents of my coworkers read this blog and there is absolutely nothing to worry about folks! instead of bringing bottled water and a change of clothes, i think i'll bring my camera. stay tuned for some interesting pictures from the heart of denver.
(did i mention that the host committee's volunteer center moved to our floor? hundreds of volunteers next week - yikes)
no need to fear the commute with me...just don't miss the starbucks turnoff. and p.s. don't talk to me until noon!!
