msm: hands

i had the great fortune to take photos of a family dear to my heart.  i anguished over my equipment and lighting.  i have no experience.  and yet i knew i would not fail.  we saw this shot at the same time. i eased off the couch and into position like i knew what i was doing. while they cooed at their little lulu, i snapped and snapped, trying not to disturb the moment. trying not to remind them of my intrusion.  i looked at my friend. tears pouring down her face.

i cried long and hard as i edited their faces.  their family in total.  when i see this photo i will always think of how much life is held in our hands.  not only blood flowing through veins.  but love.  a marriage.  girls.  babies.  a life's work.  a world without end.

  2. Wonderful photo! Relationships are not always about holding hands in the good times - it's even more important to keep holding during the bad times. May many safe hands hold us all as we enter a new year. Love from the future (it's already 2013 here in NZ)
