haiti part two - evolution

i should have put a disclaimer on my first post about haiti that would have read:  i know that the way i look at haiti today is not the way i will see it tomorrow, next week or even in 3 months.

just a few things about this...

i read here, "I love it when you are learning something about God and everywhere you go He seems to remind you of that specific truth."  since i first wrote about haiti that has been particularly poignant for me.

yesterday i received a prompt to check out the video below, and a very timely piece of advice from a friend, "you need haiti more than it needs you."

this has been the message i've been given this week, over and over in so many different ways.  i have so much to learn.  i have no worldly experience.  but my heart is wide open.

my parents are in africa right now. they leave for Malowi friday. they will are there on a mission trip and will travel with and live with malowians in their home. my dad says there's no complaining when you see a man with no arms or legs that is not complaining, but is happy.

  2. "My joy should not depend on my circumstances" (or something like that...) That is powerful truth. This video is just what I needed.

  3. Not to dissuade you in any calling you might have, but this video is so poignant and bless the person who sent it to you. Sometimes what we give to someone in a word, a thought or deed might seem to carry the smaller impact here or there but may in fact be a life changing event for them. Listen, be quiet and listen and you'll find your way. Mom
