on blogging

i just have to share a small tidbit from the real world. i received an actual handwritten note this week. pen and paper. a beautiful compliment in the mail. it just reminded me that it is actually worth putting the words out there and communicating. and that there is connection in all places. and it's true that in this fast paced internet world where things become viral in an instant, words on paper are refreshing and rewarding. so, i want to say thank you for the encouragement. now i remember why i love to write.

i have always had an inherent need to express myself. i remember as a child i used to be chided for talking too much, and honestly that has never changed. but then there was a teacher in high school who really pushed me to excel at writing. and although my voice was redirected, it gave me a new outlet for expression. and a passion for writing. i'm not sure where i will go with this skill. except here to my blog. and often times the love of writing is the biggest reason i come here. well that and sp&b. i constantly question this space in the web. who cares? who has time for this life i write about? and like some of my other bloggy friends i know i'm coming to a point where my children's anonymity and privacy will become paramount to the connection this blog offers with family and friends.

but for now, i greatly appreciate the kind comments and thoughtful words. they keep me going when i think it's time to stop. i am really thankful for that.
