bunk beds

we just got back from boise, id...and yes!  i forgot to pack my camera in the rls (rather large satchel) that i carry to work.  does anyone else who regulary carries a large camera feel naked without the weight of it in your bag.  it's got me in a tizzy.

second, i finished a job for a friend of a friend.  remember sp&b?  it literally fell off the face of the earth.  so much so that i haven't even put up our thanksgiving cards in the shop.  not that i am not constantly inspired by all the creative people in the blogosphere...but i lost my mojo to create.  when i told a really good friend about it she said, "stupid girl" as she shook her head in admonition.  so maybe i'm back a little.  especially if....

and this is where i need your help blog.  has anyone ever shared a space with a sibling or have children that share space?  we recently purchased a bunk bed from craigslist....GO CRAIGSLIST!  it lives in beans room.  sweet pea wants to live with beans and the bunk bed which is awesome.  i'm all for them being the best of friends and WANTING to be with each other all the time.  however, i am not used to getting them down for bed in the same room.  divide and conquer has worked really well for our family.  now, all they want to do is play and laugh and argue and cry at night.  nighttime is now restless instead of peaceful.  how do we get into a bedtime routine in a bunkbed?  please, i need suggestions.  i need to know what works for real people who share space.

if this all goes well...looks like we'll have a guest room opening up.  it will come fully equipped with a computer, cardstock, printer, sewing machine, and a backlog of creative projects that have not seen the light of day for the last year!  can't wait to hear your ideas....

  1. I don't have any knowledge of this first-hand, however, you could try reward incentives. It's funny how you spent so much time getting them to sleep ALONE and now you have to do the opposite. It's a great idea to free up some room in the house!

  2. Bunk beds! I can't think of any 2 brothers who have not/do not DREAM of bunk beds! I'm sure it won't take long to work out the bedtime glitches. What fun!! I love the thought of little guys scheming and dreaming and planning adventures together - in their jammies. :)

  4. I have no info for you either. we are probably going to move the two boys into the same room with bunk beds this summer after school is out. They want to be together, too. Good luck with that. I bet it might take some time...but will eventually work out fine :)
