unpackin...

i just wanted to say that we are finally done moving....we woke up on sunday morning (about 5:30am) to the boys climbing in our bed. all four of us cuddled as the coolness of the morning blew in. we laid there and watched the sun rise through our bedroom window across the front porch. at night, i snuggled with beans as he dozed off to sleep and stared out his windows as i imagine my grandma once did. she used to tell me stories in that room, and before i would doze off we would sit in our beds and munch on a midnight snack (as she called them...even though it was probably 8pm). my granddad slept in what is now sweet pea's room and i remember how it always felt like a "man's" room and i never felt comfortable in there. now it is just so darn green i can't help but laugh at what he would think...hee hee. it is strange to be living in a new house that has me so trapped in the past. "friendly ghosts," crazy aunt bonnie always says.

  1. Welcome Home. I am soooo ready to get there! Not sure how I will cope with the memories either, even though I am not 'family'. Your grandparents and your Dad still walk with you and I know I will feel their presence. It will be a sad/ happy reunion, but I'm sure the boys will keep us busy enough to stop us getting too carried away. Love to you all from the Land of the Long White Cloud.

  3. You, Brad and the contractor have done such a fantastic job on your new home. Uncle Bob and I were truly amazed. It feels so comfortable and inviting. From someone who has been in that house over the years--I just can't tell you what an open, nice feeling it has. We loved our visit; we loved the loft; we loved the "green" room; we loved the porch (I can just picture sitting there with you) and we loved just seeing you and the three boys so happy. Love, Aunt Shari

  4. So fun to hear this update Meghan! Glad to hear that you are in and getting settled. How wonderful to already have such great memories of this house. Would love to see more pictures when you get a chance, although I bet you're swamped right now! Enjoy settling in. We're so excited for you guys.
    Love,
