hy-oming

this morning beans was in rare form...he was quite beside himself because i wouldn't let him wear to school a) the shirt he slept in, or b) a shirt from the dirty clothes pile (that he wore every day last week). he was crying...and lately he will scream at the top of his lungs to TRY and get his way. and you will remember we have moved to the country now, where it is quiet. i think our house sounds like new york city compared to our surroundings. and totally off the subject, i want everyone to know that the railroad system in this country is bustling. just bustling i tell you. especially at 5:22 every morning when the loudest engine drives through the valley. we have a train crossing and you can hear the whistle as it passes our town. i want to yell out my window..."shut up with all your noise" but then we would really be nyc. i digress.

back to the temper tantrum. to show me his anger beans put on one of the many "super-hero" masks we have floating around and pouted and decided, "i don't like shirts." but, my goodness, that boy is so precious. it's all i can do to prevent myself from eating him up with his big old tummy and soft skin and chubby little hands. he was only consolable when i told him we needed to quietly look out the window to see if we could see one of the coyotes i heard last night. he looked at me with wide eyes and peeked out the window...."mommy, i see a hyoming." i am baffled that the word coyote was interpreted in this way, but i worked with it...yes, a hyoming...we should be very quiet so we don't scare it away. the end.
fancy super hero mask made by sweet pea (daily) with decorative scissors, extensive folding technique, yarn, and tape. batman has nothing on this one. he's got skills.
