just taking a little break....

crazy aunt bonnie got here just in time to say good bye to dr. bob. we had to let him go on friday. sniff sniff. it was definitely the right thing to do, but we are all missing his noises and his companionship in our household this weekend. i am so happy to have done that last thing for my dad...taking care of his dog for him. it is amazing how much impact he had on our lives in one short year. but alas...a broken heart makes it super hard to fight illness and my dad and his dog meant everything to each other. so, in my heaven they are together and finally happy. we do have another dog. the loss for him has been significant...he whined the first day and now he is mopey. still looking for his pal. i've realized how much moby's personality changed when we brought dr. bob into our home. i'm seeing little glimpses of our old boy... he's getting so much attention and loving it. i think we're starting to move out of this fog of change we've been in...reclaiming our lost time. i had not realized how patiently moby had been waiting for his turn in the spotlight. no more babies...no adopted pets. he's looking forward to exploring the neighborhood and hanging at the dog park. oh! we do love our dogs!

  3. Rest in Peace Dr Bob. You were a wonderful companion to a lovely man and then to his beloved family.
Tell crazy Aunt Bonnie I am coming to see you mid September/October if that's OK. Snowing here tonight and I am in front of the fire dreaming about balmy nights in NE and CO and spare ribs.
Happy 4th July it's happening here in about 4 hours! 32 years ago our family arrived in the US of A for the first time. Have a great day from all of us in New Zealand - love Bobbie
