i cannot let the weekend go by without acknowledging my madison loving stinking badger friends as my pioneers spank them on their own ice. and i fear taunting before the actual buzzer has sounded but as it stands at 5-0 with 3 minutes left i must, i simply must. long live boone. so sad they gave him the axe. the students tried to resurrect him...alas, i read that the powers that be felt he no longer represented the "broad du diversity" and was seen by some to represent western imperialism. damn imperialists. i just liked him because he was designed by walt disney (damn imperialists). i digress....

lately, our lives have been consumed by dog hair, house planning, vomit, sleepless nights, tax season, the gym, and skiing just to name a few things. i literally cannot remember the last year. some of my memories are selective, if not protective. when i try to think back, i can only feel the weight of all those things and i shy away from that load. tonight i drew the short straw and prepared myself for a marathon bedtime session with beans. but i'm learning in my life never to get too set on expectations. he was so un-ordinarily peaceful and calm. so much so, that i was able to sneak over to the old rocking chair and just sit for a minute listening to him breath. unexpectedly, things came crashing down on me from everywhere...tears pouring out of my eyes because i know my time in this house, rocking in that chair in that room with my babies near is coming to an end. as always, i am so excited and scared to death. for once i'm not pushing too hard for change, kind of dragging my feet to slow the process down. i'm not sure i'm ready to move to the country, but have my bags packed and the new paint colors picked out. and yet who knows what surprises are waiting for us just around the corner....

  3. When are you guys moving? Did you sell your house already? I don't blame you for having a hard time with it. Just think of how many new memories you have to make in the new house! How fun :-)

  4. "Growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the unknown." - from some unknown author, but fitting to your situation as your family grows into the future. Love ya Meg!

  5. The Pioneers do seem to have the Badgers number these days. The only thing we have going for us is that our mascot is way cooler. :)

I actually had insider info about the mascot contorversy and really thought Boone was coming back! Kind of bummer. It was always hard to explain the Red Tail Hawk/Pioneer connection.

    Good luck with your move!
