i tried to early vote on friday. the lines were crazy.....and you know i had that halloween party thing going on. so i was in line at 7am this morning and cast vote #22 at my precinct. sweet pea flat out refused to go with me and i told him later that it was probably a good idea because the wait was kind of boring. he said, "mom, i'm kind of like an adult. i like boring things." i burst out laughing and said, "you are classic." he said, "that's right, mom."there are so many things to be thankful for today. no more campaign commercials!!! a new president (fingers crossed that there will actually be an undisputed election)!! free ben and jerry's. free starbucks, people. man, do i buy into this corporate mumbo jumbo. hey, free is free!
regardless of who wins this election it feels nice to be excited about politics again and to be optimistic about the future of the great old u s of a.
I too k baby O with me to vote.. it was a long process... not long lines, but they could not find me in the system.... had to go to the court house and have them "find" me so my vote could count... very dramatic, but hopefully worth it.. I know who you voted for!!!! (ME TOO!!!)

ReplyDeleteI don't think I could have handled another electoral-over-popular-vote-no-new-president-till-January kind of thing.
believe in the process!!! the people were so overwhelmingly dissatisfied with the way things were going. me too. i'm glad the election was not contested!!
ReplyDeletei rolled out of bed bright abd early, was number 10 in line... and probably the first obama vote placed in my precinct--- but there was NO ICE CREAM or STARBUCKS for me! what the hell?!
