cocktails anyone?

there are just some days you have to get things done but you are lacking enough hands to accomplish everything. or. your hands are occupied by a boy who only wants you to hold him when you are trying to get things done. this was my alternative on just such a day. i kind of felt like an old plow horse or something with that rake beating me in the head (well, i guess i don't really know of anyone who beats their plow horse with a rake....). i think brad was asking me if the laundry was done (hee hee just kidding. he does the laundry). i guess what i'm saying is a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do. i miss the days when i could pop beans into my front carrier and get something done! now i work as fast as i can before i hear one of two boys screaming in the other room or before being chased around by the one who says "hold you. hold you." (and i love "hold you. hold you." all too soon i will miss that being gone.)

  1. since i am all anti TV theoretically, I've found that play music or playing a story record keeps the boy occupied for hours, though with two personalities... looks like you're on your own sister....

  2. my kids don't like tv anyway. i can get them to watch movies for about three seconds. sometimes sp will watch a show here or there....oh but i love the story record idea. i so love that little charm sound when it's time to turn the page. can you tell how my mom got her work done?

  3. Yes please, I'll have a cocktail with you! Arielle is constantly asking me to watch movies but inevitably IF I cave in she only watches the first 15 minutes. But that 15 minutes means I get to get at least one thing done even if it means emptying the dishwasher or folding a load of laundry. Then she moves onto needing me to play some pretend game with her. I love it but you know, it's a lot of work!
