ram fans

we are ram fans. in colorado you are either a ram fan or a buffalo fan (cu hasn't figured out that the proper terminology is bison). some people root for the other team in all other circumstances except for when they are playing each other (brad does not happen to be one of those people, but i might be....depends who you're talking to). because we are ram fans we travel to ft. collins often to watch colorado state play football. after a controversial end to the career of beloved coach sonny lubick, the rams are managing to win this season. it was fun to watch the game today...reminiscent of the old days over there in the student section (i am not a csu alum. my school has a hockey team. former national champions. go pioneers!). the motley crew that we've attended so many games with has changed exponentially over the years. here's the cast of characters we share our season tickets with these days....

sweet pea's dad took me to my first csu game in 1997.

this cutie pie's dad used to wear an ill fitting dog costume to the games before we got kicked out of the student section for being "almost 30."

this guy's dad made us create and strictly enforce the "nnl" policy (no naked leif) at football (and all other) parties.

this sleepy baby's papa drove us all the way to vegas to watch the rams play.

beans mom used to come to the football games (four seasons) as the pregnant or nursing designated driver. i just put this picure in here because i know how much you love those cheeks.

football season isn't nearly the same today as it was in 1997, but fun in such a different way. we probably won't travel to ft. fun in a blizzard and sip on hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps. but as long as the weather is right, the kids will share their lemonade and snacks. the moms and dads will have a few beers (no sharing there). and all of us will cheer on the rams and laugh about how crazy the college kids are in the student section.

as an aside, i love watching #62 get some play time. i've known jamers since he was just a little guy. i was actually bigger than him once (now he's 6'6").

GO RAMS!

  1. I think one of the reasons why it is not as fun is simply back in 1997 you were a totally different person...not your person as a whole, but just like me, you did not have kids, probably were not married,so going out to sporting events or anything else, really was just different...it loosk like you had a good time, and yes, we love those cheeks
