brad's mom was so gracious (uh, right, twist her arm...wink, wink) to watch both kids for us while we took granny smith and headed over the pass (teton pass) to camp at jenny lake (in the teton national forest) for a night. 
we met our friend mark and had a wonderful dinner and glass of wine at dornan's. (view from the rooftop deck below).
we were leaving to pick up pete and kirsten at the airport in jackson (also in the park) and someone called us "truckin hippies" (in sweet pea speak). but i have to say, it was such a blast camping in the van for a night. i slept so well and it was so amazingly peaceful. we had to get up super early to get on the 6am solitude boat down the snake river, and we saw a lot of wildlife, but no moose. 
top it off with an amazing breakfast at the bunnery and we were totally recharged for the second leg of our trip. thanks grandma bobbi for a wonderful, much needed, vacation from our vacation!

ReplyDeleteI chose this post to comment on because I had to tell you - my mom works out at the Grand Teton lodge. She gets to Jenny Lake often - & has shared many pictures. It's gorgeous out there!
It would be fun to camp out in a van especially the old VW. Thanks for sharing all this.
