life goes on

there's nothing like a little kid stuff to get your mind off things...last week's soccer game was just a bummer. we were all in a funk and thought going to soccer would do us all some good. however, it was freezing and windy and sweet pea absolutely refused to play. we ended up leaving early. he wouldn't even stay for snacks. but this week he was like a new little man. he went to mid-field and looked at the coach and said, "do you know my friend kendall (she and jacks were playing on the next field over)? do you know what a rocket ship is? do you know about airplanes?" then he took the ball and cruised over to where the big kids were playing - during his own game. he almost scored a goal this week, but he tripped and then when he got up he ran past the ball right into the goal. he was a maniac.
every morning sweet pea wakes up and asks if aunt bonnie from abraska is still here and wonders when she's going to get up and if she'll eat breakfast with us. he was a little sad today and said he missed papa. i asked him if he had any fun memories of papa and he said, "we just played and played and played but then he got busted down." please. i have no idea where he got busted down but he always provides some levity to even the most dreary situations.
beans is a little trooper. he's cutting his 4th molar so he's been fussy. but he's also been gathering new words like crazy. he's very adamant about NO (with hand gestures and all). he says, uh-oh, yellow, blue, apple, no, momma, daddy, thank you, dah-tah, papa and mo (for more and moby). he's working on his bravery. he's bound and determined to walk down the stairs like a big boy and not back down like he's always done.
