the sun, the sun, the glorious sun

i'm certain that every resident of colorado was out enjoying the beautiful weather we had yesterday. i'm happy to report that sweet pea and beans are back in business. we loaded up the chariot and headed for the zoo yesterday (along with everyone else).

we've had a few notable carterisms lately...there was a commercial on tv about fruit from chee-lay and carter asked brad if that's where he went to see grandma bobbi. after a few seconds carter said, "i love that stinkin' girl." since the boys were home with brad most of the week these moments (carterisms) provided some much needed laughter. while brad was in another room with will, carter dumped out the contents of the baskets from will's changing table in the middle of the floor. at the end of his rope, brad said, "why would you do something like that?" carter responded that he "was just having some fun on a hot summer day."

it's fun to see how carter's imagination is shaping up. this last week, carter has had every kid from school over for breakfast, lunch and dinner. we've had dance parties, we made a restaurant and kitchen out of cardboard boxes so he could serve his friends or his babies. we've gone on vacations (carter has to put his backpack on for those) and driven around the world. he got medical supplies from the doctor's office so his medical bag is all stocked up with band-aids, tongue depressors and extra long cotton swabs. we've had a million adventures all from the comfort of our own living room. the silver lining.
