another one bites the dust

we have two kiddos down now with the yucky hfmd virus. poor beans laid down on the carpet yesterday and whimpered. it absolutely broke my heart (i had tears and all). his fever finally broke last night. so now we have the dreaded blisters for the next couple of days. we have to figure out how to keep him hydrated because he's not wanting to swallow very much. rest assured that even in the worst of states beans still made monkey noises this morning and waved to the world when i opened his curtains - "day" he says.

carter is now on the mend (fever gone, mouth healing). we're keeping him home from school this week, and i pray that the other sweet little kids in carter's class are spared. his energy level is through the roof now and his little mind is bored and needs some stimulation that obviously mom and dad aren't providing. we try to tell him to use his powers for good not evil.....but you know what they say about idle hands....wait, what do they say? oh yeah, idle hands figure out how to pick the lock on mom and dad's bedroom door. he was so proud that he finally mastered that lock. you know the child proof part of the lock that allows ADULTS to open a locked door from the outside. carter couldn't get it open with his fingernail like mom (he tried unsuccessfully and i was confident with that). so he just figured out the next best thing - a dvd. do you think the masterminds at the door handle company anticipated the likes of carter during the design phase? i think not.

  1. nothing worse than hfmd... my dad kept calling it 'hoof in mouth' when ryan had it. good luck, and take care of you too!
