i really am juvenile in so many ways. i had so much fun dying easter eggs with sweet pea. we came up with some great colors. and nearing the end he poured all of the dye into one cup so the eggs evolved into an army green color. we came out with 4 brightly colored eggs and 8 brownish green eggs. when he woke up in the morning he was really interested to know if the easter bunny was able to get into the house. he's still pondering how that could happen. we saw two bunnies in the backyard this morning so he has a feeling it might have something to do with their home under the deck.

the easter bunny didn't realize it was going to snow overnight. in hindsight the extremely frigid weather might have been an indicator of a dip in the weather pattern...however, all was well with the beautifully unpredictable colorado weather. and as you can tell the sun was out in full force this morning to melt the snow off of the easter eggs in the backyard. the look on his face as he found those first few eggs was so uplifting. it's amazing to see such untainted joy on a child's face. everything in the world was as it should be - full of hope, mystery and endless possibilities.

after we spent the morning loading up on peeps and chocolate bunnies, we were all a little stir crazy so we headed up the hill for an adventure. we stumbled across this great steam engine that sweet pea was able to climb on and use to exercise his imagination. he invited all of his friends from school to "come aboard" and drove us all around the mountains. it was nice for him to be able to play with the heavy steel parts that had no chance of breaking.

on our way back home, we noticed that the herd of BISON happened to be right at the "BUFFALO herd overlook." so we did what all the over self-respecting tourists would do and we drove several miles out of our way to go back several miles out of our way to take a look at the BISON. please don't be alarmed there was a useless chain-link fence between us and the herd. sweet pea was very concerned that "they poop everywhere!" and here's where i can't mask the fact that i am still and always will be so juvenile....

look at sweet pea pointing out the poo. for the last several weeks he's been pointing at everything with his middle finger. at first we were shocked and embarrassed (yeah, right) but now we cannot help but crack up in hysterics every time it happens. he really gives that middle finger a work out. and now brad and i feel like we are liberated to point things out to each other with our middle fingers because there is just no harm in it, is there?
