as i sit here working on projects for the holidays, my eye is drawn to this particular decoration on our Christmas tree. six years ago i let my baby boy out into the world. i went to work, he went to daycare. i cried my eyes out. he made this ornament. these giant baby shaped hands, symbolize for me, the letting go of one stage and the welcoming of another. a true little angel, this boy, who has taught me everything i ever needed to know about parenting.
