i have a friend. she bakes good bread. sometimes i come home and it's on the counter. it's a mystery how her bread ends up in my kitchen. i'm just blessed that way. now tell me you wouldn't swoon if you walked into your kitchen after a long day to the smell of fresh baked bread. she is someone who uses her God given talents. she not only works a full time job, parents some crazy littles, loves her husband to the moon, works hard to put healthy food on the table but she then pops some freshly raised dough into the oven for tomorrow's sandwiches. alas. my God given talent is not making bread from scratch. but it dawned on me one day. i have a darn bread maker. passed down from generations {my mom} of hardworking women {woman}. and i guess i figured out at that moment that the secret is not forcing yourself into a breadmaking mold that doesn't fit. no. the secret is using what you have to the best of your ability. be it sourdough starter or a box with the ingredients for a double, medium crust, bread maker loaf.
also, it doesn't hurt to have a friend with a God given talent for making bread from scratch. the end.
love the everyday thoughts! keep at it.....
