starting out, home was a place i planned to build.  i imagined my home growing with my husband, someday children and pets.  there would be dishes.  there would be flowers and maybe some vegetables.  we would entertain.  it would be just so.  as the years have passed home has taken on a different meaning.  i've found it's not only what you make.  it's what you have to come back to.  it's not where you live that's home, it's what you think of it when you're gone.  it's the feeling you get when opening a box of pictures.  it's remembering your child doing something particular.  the rattle of your dog's collar.  the ring on your finger.  and those are the things that can be packed and taken anywhere.  home is holding onto the memories.  in your old place or your new.
