just wanted to let you know that i'm back from haiti. to a 100 degree temperature drop. yes, that's right. it was in the high 80s in haiti yesterday and this morning my thermometer read -19 (negative 19) in colorado.
i need a few days to process everything. i am experiencing waves of sentiment, guilt, fondness and frustration. if you followed the haiti blog you will notice my posting tapered off. truly. it was the biggest journey of my life. in every way. and most of my words are lost in haiti. they are wrapped up in a swirl of sights, smells and sounds completely foreign to me here. it already seems so far away. but the emotion is right there under my skin and just brimming on my eyelids. the stories need to be told. just not yet.
oh my! how good it was to smell my sweet boys and feel their soft warm cheeks next to mine last night. and to cuddle up cozy with my husband and fall asleep.
