simple math

as i was getting dressed for work, i overheard a conversation sweet pea was having with brad at the breakfast table.

sp:  why is nicolas more popular than i am?

my heart just sinks as i think, are we really having this conversation in kindergarten?

brad:  what does popular mean?

good answer, brad.

sp:  i don't know.

whew.

brad:  then why would you think nicolas is "more than" you?

YES!

sp:  uh...can i have my wii remote back today?

aahh...getting back to what really matters.  bowling. 

i am so thankful that my husband completely mastered this conversation.  i would have certainly said the wrong thing.  over analyzed.  he is the most amazing rock and voice of reason in our family.

may we all be just as much as we need to be. and never make our children feel like being greater than or less than is what's important.
