i woke up in a mild state of panic thinking that beans would not want to do ski lessons. that maybe he wasn't quite potty trained enough. maybe he would cry when we left. maybe he would be scared of the snow machine. i prepared to lurk around the corner of the warming hut with the other mothers so i could be there if he cried and "be available" if the instructor needed me. i imagined him screaming, "mommy....." like some of the other kids were doing.
but not beans. he met mr. andy and that was great. let's go. where's my skis?
i had to find him outside, and bring him in with the rest of his class.
he carried his own skis to the snow machine. bye. see ya. he climbed up without any help and found a seat and waited to get buckled in.
and there he was my baby heading up the mountain. he didn't even say a word to me. he just looked over when i took the picture. as they were driving away he said, "bye dad."****
this session mr. ray only has sweet pea and a new friend, ava. basically a 4 week private lesson. he offered to work with sweet pea before class next week to TEACH HIM TO STOP. they took off the edgy wedgies, and we already knew this...but sweet pea can turn well. almost parallel. which is making me jealous and thinking that he will be skiing better than me by march. kids....
go beans! so cute!!! maybe we will see SP in the 2022 olympics!
ReplyDeletegood goal.
ReplyDeletehe is already talking about snow boarding...scary. and ski racing. more scary....can you just see it in 2022 - he'll be known as the "flying pea" instead of the flying tomato.
i'm sure this year's oly oly impics will provide much blogging fodder as well. he is so interested.
