did i tell you that i was elected to the board of the village club? yes...i was. i am the treasurer. which is fitting because i'm an accountant in real life. so, great. i'm working with numbers in my free time as well. to be frank, i went to a meeting to "help out" and not to join. i thought in my head....no matter what, i will not let anyone talk me into being an officer. and here i am. fresh meat. the girl who can't say no. and the only other person at the meeting who wasn't already an officer.
however....as blessings seem to abound in my life...this has been really fun. we had our first event at the village club - burgers and bingo - and it was successful.
and by successful i mean my neighbor who snuck in at the last second said to me, "i've lived here 14 years and have managed to avoid stuff like this for all that time. you move in and all the sudden i'm "forced" to participate." old softie.
just a little less than half of the town showed up. it was fun to see the old timers and all the new people coming together for the long standing town tradition of bingo.
my mom said she used to play on the same cards when she was little.
i know you know this, and you hear it all of the time, but you guys made the best decision when you decided to move the country!! sounds like a great time!!
