the prospect of marriage

it's funny with the second child. our conversations are so much more comical. as if there could be anything funnier than the things that 2 year old sweet pea used to say...now we have 2yo beans repeating all of sweet pea's still hysterical conversations. it's like we get a double dose of comedy. groundhog's day, every day.

sweet pea says, "mom i could be your dad if you want me too. since you don't have one."
beans repeating, "i be your dad. you don't haaave one."
me, "no thanks. i only needed that one dad, and he's still my dad. ok? you can just be my son. that's good enough."
sweet pea, "well, mom. i'm going to get married someday. then i'll move away. like to florida."
beans repeating, "married in florida, mom. sheesh."
me, "but i'll still be your mom. and you will still be my son."
sweet pea, "but you won't live with me. ok, mom?"

then...

sweet pea, "i'm going to marry beans."
me, "uh...no. you can live next door to him."
sweet pea, "i sure am going to miss that little guy when i get married."
me, "but you could still live next door to him."
sweet pea, "mom, i'm moving to canada."
