just when you think....

the boys go to a pre-school offered in conjunction with a public school system. the only public school system in the denver area not to close down today. we never had snow days as a kid. the snow literally had to be 12 inches before they would consider it. today the schools were closed in anticipation of heavy snow fall. and one more thing...if you are a native of colorado, you know not to anticipate the weather. you just take it for what it is at the moment. in anticipation of nice weather (hee hee), we hiked yesterday....we saw a prairie falcon and a mountain bluebird. we also learned how to safely get away from black bears and mountain lions. and as an aside...we ventured into a new situation and joined a small nature group in the park for kids. truly disappointing, it was a glorified story hour (not that there's anything wrong with stories mind you....). the kids were considerably younger than sweet pea. he discussed at length the eating and behavioral habits of bears with the park ranger...much to the other parents dismay. the whole questioning and answers about whether or not bears like to eat people was a little alarming to some of the mom's...

  2. Sounds like your son enjoyed himself. What did the other children think of his questions?

  3. they were oblivious to the discussion...too little to understand, really. sweet pea was antsy and wanted to get outside...he so wanted the park ranger to take him for a walk and show him the things she was reading about.
