while i was waiting to carpool with tall jen this morning i checked out facebook on my blackberry. my very dear friend from college moved to japan, well, 54 days ago. she has run every day since she's been there and her goal is to keep on until she makes it home in two years. i know this isn't funny, but knowing her...it's pretty funny! man i miss her.

couldn't figure out what she tripped on this morning during her run as there was nothing but a flat, featureless road through a rice paddy in the pouring rain. Found out that she "tripped" on an earthquake, and that Japan is getting hit by the biggest Typhoon in 10 years. Day 53 was rather memorable :)
Facebook is the weirdest thing. The day I signed up I found out one of my college roommates was having open-heart surgery that afternoon.
