thankful for today

it wasn't hard to find the blessing in my life today. after testing positive for strep throat, i was sent home for some rest. as i sat in the kitchen wondering what i could possibly eat that wouldn't send me into tears, and as my body relaxed from all of the logistical tension of our morning routine with an added doctor's appointment (uh....when do i have time to go to the doctor for myself?!?), i became distinctly aware of the total peace and quiet that surrounded me. i'm not kidding, it was the best thing that's happened to me in years. the kids were at school. brad was hard at work getting our new business up and running (we bought a snap fitness franchise this year and the grand opening is on december 6th). i was able to edit and copy all of the pictures i took at jack's birthday this weekend (not because i'm a photographer but just to help out).i designed some baby stationery for the newest addition to our neighborhood, welcome baby ryan. actually planned out and cut the pieces for some new burp cloths i'm making in anticipation of the new baby boys our friends will be blessed with in the coming months. and i was able to pour myself into a book that i never imagined i would read (vampires?)...twilight. ahhh...enchanting edward - he has me hooked. the weather was nearly 70 degrees and i soaked up the heat. and, yes, as soon as the antibiotics and ibuprofen kicked in i was able to make up with the food that had been missing me for the last couple of days. maybe i'll feel like working out tomorrow....

  2. if it's possible to be in love with a character, edward is my man. interested to see what tisha thinks....i think she's a twilight fan and jenhentzen. jenhentzen have you read this series? doesn't seem up your alley yet i can't help but believe you would fall in love with edward too. might be fun to fall in love with a book while the hubby is away....

  3. 1st book got me hooked. i JUST finished the 4th book last night. LOVED the ending.

the 2nd book drags a little in the middle but hang on to your hats for the end. 3rd book was really good too, but the 4th. i think i need to re-read the first one now.

    i "heart" edward.
