bean town

starting from nearly the same place, we travelled all the way to college in oregon just to meet each other. obviously we had colorado in common, but we latched onto each other's zany sense of humor and love of laughter. i met leighann at a party in our dorm at lewis & clark. together we founded the infamous lc posse, we kept domino's pizza in business, made up special dance routines, lived by the words of winnie the pooh, and had pasta wid da marinara sauce at the bone with our friend carl. of course, i was not as brave as she was and needed to go back to colorado where i was safe from the spotted owl. if nothing else, l&c gave me a life long friend. la and the rest of the lc posse bid me adieu and we parted ways. she sent me home with a letter and an incredible poem - the same poem she read at my wedding. through many life adventures and so many great memories, we have evolved into grown women - married, with children. i am so thankful for the blessing of her friendship. i am so thankful for soul mates.
on monday my amazing friend will be running her bottom off in bean town. she qualified for the BOSTON MARATHON. she's very humble and modest, but this is a BIG deal. GOOD LUCK LEIGHANN!!! i am so proud of you and will be rooting you on - always!

  1. how in the world did we arrive at this moment? 15 years after meeting at lewis and clark, and only really being "together" for 6 months (or was it less?), i have managed to get my own blog on your page? you are truly amazing. in every way -- YOU inspire me with your passion to do great things, to be kind and sensitive to others, to be the kind of mom we all strive to be, to love your man all the way to moon. thank you so much for your support, meghan. i will definitely run as hard as i can in bean town, and i will definitely celebrate the accomplishment after i have crossed the finish line, made my way back to the hotel room, taken a hot shower, rested my tired body and of course, called you to let you know how it went. aha -- so this is what "undying friendships" are...
