potty training insanity
if anyone reads this blog please have mercy on me and give me some hints about potty training boys. i have completely lost the ability to be creative in this arena. i have tried everything i can think of and i know i MUST be doing something wrong because it can't be this hard, right? i feel like we started this process at the right time (all the classic signs were there) and we had support from school (they suggested we go for it) and things were going great.....i understand there might be a period of regression and we are sort of in that phase. truth be told, sweet pea is just too smart for us. he outwits us on this everyday. his greatest struggle is in SITTING on the potty. we spend an insane amount of time with him (so do his teachers) every day to no avail. we are in some kind of rut that we haven't been able to overcome. he's miserable and we're miserable for him. suggestions please! don't be shy leave a comment - we need all the help we can get!

meg- you know, i'm still to some extent house-breaking jackson! we tried positive and negative reinforcement, ignoring it, punishing him, praying, pleading... i've been down every road with him. some kids get it and some kids have to try harder. jackson is finally doing better, but we have to remind him to "sit" after he eats, and everynight he get a miralax/oj cocktail... and we're doing better.
ReplyDeleteon the bright side, ryan trained himself and has never had an accident since he was 2 and a half... wait! he was playing hide and seek with their friends (and the friends teenage brothers) and one of the brothers scared ryan so bad, he peed! hahahahaha...
